Using ZTE AC8700 in Mac

is there a way that i can change the password that these people gave me..i mean the modem username and password..and also can i configure it in modem so that i dont need to connect by giving username and password..+ i have found one more thing..this driver is only for 1X connection..it does not support evdo..coz i have noticed when the speed reaches the limitations of 1X then it never rises..please do some frther query for evdo support too..iam looking always on the internet..but no use...people like u know all these stuff..hence you should give it a try..iam sure u can find something.

I am busy these days so I will try to find out when I get evdo. Ask in the pl2303 project forum if it can support high data speeds.

Its not necessary. Its a very simple task, install drivers and then add device id's to detect your modem.

what happend after i press ESCAPE followed by wq ,i mean it will bring me back to bash 3.2 ....... etc ? or i must just close the window ? plz reply me

am mohammed again ,i dont know how to add device IDs anyways i did what u said but i didnt know what will happend after i press escape and wq ,is there is any way to do this ,by the way its shown in system profiler as ZTE CDMA TECH but only here plz help help help ,thanx alot

mohammed again ,mr veagels let me tell what i did exactly :
1: installed pl_2303 driver and reboot.
2: copied the new find.plist(from post #3) and overright .
3: opened disk utility to REPAIR DISK PERMITIONS and restart .
4: go to System Prefrences> Network
5: click on + sign in the bottom of the list to add a new service from the given interfaces .
< no ZTE CDMA Tech> option .. this is my last step
please assist me by the way i cheked the System Profiler>USB its there but the
product ID is 0x6000 instead of 6000 and the vendor ID is 0x05c6 instead of 05c6 is it a problem ????????!!!!!!!!!

05c6 is Hex number represented as 0x05c6. You are clearly not following what I am have described here in simplest possible words.
Save the page or write the down the commands and follow STEP BY STEP.

If you still not able to do it, show this tutorial to any of your geek friends and ask them to help you.

Please register in our forum for free by clicking here to see images. hey mr veagels how u doin ,its workin now ,th problem waz with the permition, ok thanxx alot bro am now enjoying the device ,by the way am in SUDAN, and we have the same service , my speed is too slow although my modem is support speed up to 2.4 Mbps ,its now about 200 Kbps , what an i do its very good in a PC ??

Glad to know you got it fixed alnaemeen..Even i get reduced speed nearly 150kbps.But my connection speed is 2.4mbps.I get this speed in xp but not on mac.Its a shame.:-)
