Unplug your modem, follow step 8, and plug it back again. Check if it comes now.

when i tied it said get to root...when i tried to reinstall it said uninstall..but the uninstall command never worked...when i try to load as u said it says this was installed improperly..i stopped trying. i have got exams till wenesday. so may be we'll try on wednesday...please give me solution..i beg u my friend.

This a very simple solution. It has worked with my evdo modem and my friends reliance cdma modem too.
You should read the messages at the terminal carefully, now you are saying it is not properly installed. How do you expect it to load when its not properly installed?

It never showed this error before.I mean in my first time installation.I tried a reinstallation yesterday and then it started showing this error.Perhaps i didnt uninstall it before reinstalling..

hey iam doing the whole stuff again. i shall tell you how iam gonna do it.
1.iam gonna plug in the device.
2. install the software.
3.reboot the machine.
4.copy the info.plist file u uploaded to the location/System/Library/Extensions/osx-pl2303.kext/Contents/
5.close it and run disk utility to fix the disk permissions.
6.then restart and check system preferences for new interface.
7.if god favours i shall be lucky.

today is may first..beginning of a new month and let me give you a good news. the problem was not with the settings i did. it was the parallels..i removed it and now it worked...will i get the same speed that i use to get before..anyway thanks for your continued help..thank you again. its 230 am..gotta sleep..bye. night or rather say morning.

You will get the same speeds. In fact, browsing in safari seems to be faster than browsing on windows in FF or Opera.
