Use of USB cable supplied with EVDO Modem
when i bought the EVDO USB modem i was given a usb cable with one female end and two male ends....whats that for?
Whats the use of 2 Male ends?
Had it been 2 female ends then it would have worked like USB extension+ expansion cable but with 2 male ends, i am confused?

I think the 2 males are to provide the additional power requirement. I did not get any such cables, I got it for rent maybe that is why....
Did u buy the modem or rent? and where are u frm?

RE: Use of USB cable supplied with EVDO Modem
Hi:
My EVDO stopped working - I had plugged it directly into the USB of my laptop.
Windows Vista
Tried two BSNL offices - but they could not get it to work.
THEN i tried using the double-USB cable supplied in the box, and it works just fine now.
Right now I use 2 of the extended ports on a USB hub.
Hope this is useful for someone.

RE: Use of USB cable supplied with EVDO Modem
As bb_user said, it has got two ends coz it requires more power. And if u ask why the cable is for, it is used to extend and place the device on ur desktop according to ur convenience. Sometimes, we will have to move the device around the desktop to achieve good speeds.

Please don't PM/Email me regarding any technical query. They will go unread/ignored. Instead do post them in forums. Let others know ur problems too.

RE: Use of USB cable supplied with EVDO Modem
The USB Cord has got two females, in case u have an old machine like p2 which used to have usb1.1, and as may provide lesser current so just for additional current requirement. also it would be needed if u use an usb cable of length more that 3 meters, because there ir drop will be more so their is need of additional current. Remember, only power pins of additional usb have been connected, and not the data pins.
