use bsnl's wll external patch antenna to increse signal strenth
yes i have found my signal towers to increse from 2 to 3 by using external patch antenna the one i got with my wll huwaei setfrom bsnl ,, fix the antenna box on your rooftop attach the wire ( the same availailable with the antenna)to it, no bring the other end of wire near to your evdo device tower ,it will increse ur signal towers , very soon i will post screenshot of it , working for cdma network donot know abt evdo as i donot have evdo towers near me, it also incresed my download speed previously i was getting 10 kb/s now i am getting 16-18 kb/s

Any one seen the external antenna scoket behind the zte device, hidden below a rubber patch. Find a connector in ur local electronics market, which could attach to it, then take a yagi-uda antenna (the antenna which is used for tv reception for doordarshan etc), and connect a co axial cable to both ends of antenna feed, and other two ends to the connector of the EVDO device. place the antenna over the roof top, and rotate the antenna in search of maximum signal, ie rotate the antenna slowle and mark signal changes on every 5 degree. then analyze on which position u get the best strength of signal, and fix the antenna in that position. i am sure, it will put some 2-3 extra bars of network signal in ur pocket.. (BEWARE:- PLACE THE ANTENNA AWAY FORM ELETRICITY LECKAGES AND LIGHTNING STRIKE POSSIBILITIES, AVOIDING THAT MAY DAMAGE UR DEVICE PERMENANTLY) Madanmohan mishra (NGP ) |

RE: use bsnl's wll external patch antenna to increse signal strenth
Guys,
Finally i got my EVDO activated after long wait, the speeds are really good campared to regaular 1x but the BSNL signal coverage weak. i m able to achive speeds upto 500kbps by placing the modem near the window Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register in our forum for free by clicking here to see images. with 2bars). But the uploads speed is killing.. hardly 50-100kbps but not constant. (not sutiable for voip) i was just thinking of designing an yagi antenna and do some expermenting.. if anyone has already done this Exercise please post your feedback. |

@sunnyraina1985
well Name for the connector is SMA(male) refer following figure Guests cannot see links in the messages. Please register in our forum for free by clicking here to see links. @rookie
well, u can use normal tv yagi uda antenna but in vertical polarization, ie, mount it in vertical orientation, ie all the elements of a yagi should face upwards, and also minimize the length of the feed cable, so as to minimize attunation losses, so keep length lesser than 10-15 feets. please review the following figure Guests cannot see links in the messages.
