Update to latest Drivers for Windows Users.

Update The ZTE EVDO AC8700 Device drivers to the latest version available on the net.. The drivers are signed by windows.

Hello all evdo users. If you are using windows as your pc's operating system, then this is a must be done procedure for u. All windows version from windows 200, win xp/xp64, vista 32/64 and Windows 7 32/64 can achieve the driver update via this process. It is a very short and easy process.

For Windows 2000 / Windows XP Users:

1) Please install the ZTE drivers and the installation package in the user cd of zte.
If you do not posses the CD then you may download the latest drivers from:-

After installing the software and drivers, connect to the net by starting the dialer application. Now we wil update the drivers as follows.

2) Right click My computer icon, select Properties
then go to hardware tab and click on device manager.

Step 2) For Windows Vista and Windows 7 OS

Rt click on Mycomputer, There, On Top u will Find Device Manager.
3) (NOTE: This step ie step no 3 . is Common For all the OS, xp, Vista , Win 7 etc)

In Device manager locate the "Ports".
Expand the ports category. Their you will see the "ZTE Diagnostic Interface 3197".
Right click on it and go to properties.
Go to the Drivers tab. Click the "Update drivers" button.

For Windows Xp, Click on "Install the drivers Automatically", And then Select "Search from Internet"

And for Windows Vista and Windows 7:
Click on "Search Automatically for the Updated Drivers.".
Now the windows will search the internet fot the updated drivers, And ask your permission for installing them. Click yes, and the driver will be installed.

Now click on "Modems" in Device manager.

Then again select "ZTE USB Modem 3197" and Right click and go to it's properties, and repeat the Automatic Update process which we did previously with the Diagnostic Interface driver.

After installation of both the drivers, please restart your os.

Well it is an update so their has to be some thing new, It may be from some function improvements to just registering for whql completion. Seriously speaking, I DON'T Know. If some one can experiment with the performance of the new driver-set and old ones, i too would be grateful.
