I have BSNL evdo white Micromax MMX 300c HISA 2000 Rev.A USB modem, VISTA Home edition.
I stay in Amruthnagar, near Hebbal flyover, I am getting download speed of 50 to 100KBs day/night at full HISA signal, my friend stays in Amrutahalli, 5 km further gets 1 MBP day time and >2MBps night, he has an old ZTE evdo modem. BSNL says it will improve, Micromax is better, when they dont as usual.Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register in our forum for free by clicking here to see images. My PC manager max modem setting says max speed as 115200, how on earth can i get in GB? Tech person says driver takes care of this, I told him, I am in this field for more than 15 years and can't bullshit me. BSNL tech is more useless than usefull. Does anyone here has an answer? or an updated PC Manager/driver, Micromaxinfo.com site is another mess, mmx 300c model is not listed. I struggled for days to get it running in the first palce as the tech person doesn't give any information. If this this does doesn' work i want t to try windows7 or ubuntu. |

RE: Tips for Best Speeds in EVDO
On the basic point that the dial up connecttion has a maximum speed of of 115Kbps it does not matter as it is not the part through which the internet gets connected the internet gets connected through the USB and the drivers which are istalled make the internet connection possible hence the speed on the dial up wouldnt matter.
I am not old in this feild but i am speaking with experience. I have the Old ZTE modem and yes my dialup is115Kbps but still i am able to download at a rate of more than 1.5-2 Mbps THe modem speed setting does not hinder the speed of the internet . I am sorry but i dont have much information about the new devices . |

There are two types of software installed for the data card in your computer. 1.Drivers : To enable the computer ( OS ) to recognize your device and communicate with it for data flow, to and fro. 2.Application software : This is the dial up interface like PC manager in Micromax or ZTE graphical interface..... in ZTE devices. Here you are setting, the type of connection ( Hybrid / EVDO / CDMA1X ) to be made to the internet ( network ). This SW controls the device to connect accordingly, within the limit of the card's compatibility. If you set EVDO for your ZTE old device ( AC 8700 ) it will connect up to 2.4Mbps speed. In CDMA1x setting upto 153Kbps speed. Unless you change the settings to EVDO you can not get 1.5 - 2Mbps speed !! Latest cards support 3.1Mbps (DL) and 1.8Mbps (UL). What is the model of your card ? Where you have seen 115Kbps ? Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register in our forum for free by clicking here to see images. |

RE: Tips for Best Speeds in EVDO
i thimk cd sliding is good if you want to decrease the speed it doesnt work
first of all you should change the port settings of the interface of the device then you will see the speed of 921 kbps in the notification area ! you asked how to get it in gb? its not possible cause there is something called limit! believe me friend you can get good speed with 921 kbps port speed if you know how to do that its fine and if you dont know then just reply me and i will tell you? you told you het speed near by 50 to 100 kbps its in kbps or KBPS cause if you get the speed in KBPS then you are getting very good speed and you are getting in knps then we should take care of it |
