The important thing about ROAMING

one thing every member is forgetting that even if we have the national roaming PRL is there any one whose national roaming is activate and did he/she checked it outside of their state ?

as for i know in India according to TRAI WLL mobile should have 10 digit number for roaming .

I dont think any one has got any new number still now . because i remember that when reliance cdma was lunched that time it has numbers like 3*****
and for activating roaming that time it has to give TRAI some 30 or 50 crore penalty and started 93 number fro roaming and still 3**** series number is there but it was limited to locality only


so i think even we upgrade our prl we still need national roaming number (i.e 10digit number ) for using it out side of state.

Hey dark_king,

I'm from Chandigarh. My connection is from Himachal and I am using it in Chandigarh (UT) and its the Punjab circle, two different states so it does work for sure on roaming.

I got it from the BSNL Exchange itself, so its from the horse's mouth.

Moreover if you observe this PRL list there are 4 parameters added in it, against the usually 2 in normal roaming settings. So there is some better reconfiguration for sure.

Haven't used it in other states of India as I haven't traveled, as and when I do, I'll keep the forum posted.

I KNEW I AM CORRECT . WITHOUT 10 DIGIT NUMBER U CAN GO FOR ROAMING .

I WANT TO INFORM THAT IN BHUBANESWAR , ORISSA ALL THE EVDO USER R UPGRADED TO NATIONAL ROAMING . FOR THIS ALL THE EVDO USER HAS TO RE CONFIGURE THEIR DEVICE AND THEY GOT NEW 10 DIGIT MOBILE NUMBER .

MY NEW NUMBER IS 9192900xxx .

SO I THINK IT WILL TAKE SOME TIME TO DO THIS TO ALL THE USERS IN INDIA.

I have checked that roaming works fine. I got my EVDO connection 3months back in Bangalore. I went to Madras last week and it was working fine there. I have a 2014xxxx number.

In fact the service was way better in Madras than in Bangalore. It was awesome! I would get ~100-150kbps speeds in Bangalore, and about 15kBps download. In Madras I was getting 1.5Mbps, and 140kBps downloads.

I went to the Nagashettyhalli exchange today, to complain about this. They reconfigured my modem, saying the settings were wrong Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register in our forum for free by clicking here to see images. No improvement in speeds in Bangalore after reconfiguring. Will check the speeds in Madras when I go there next time. They changed the Home NID/SID in the PST tool.

First of all I found this a really useful forum without much of junk threads and adds. I sincerely appreciate the efforts of Santhosh and the forum moderators.

I have taken an EVDO card from koramangala BSNL exchange, Bangalore. I am getting speeds upto 500 kbps between HSR and Koramangala 1st block. Would like to take it to kerala for a month. Can some one advice me about how to activate/re-configure the card in kerala. Please let me know the connectivity near tiruvalla, Chengannur area.

I have downloaded a PRL 1XEVDO 1,83 folder which is there along with PST software .rar I have seen its is working fine in Bangalore and chennai as well. Thank you for this wonderful support from this forum
