The important thing about ROAMING

I just now enquired Bangalore main exchange they said "roaming has been activated get your device re configured to avail this facility".
Anyone form bangalore please update on it

well i am in doubt the if bsnl has started RevA in India .But now i am little clear that it has and will be fully cleared when i check it my self .

And BSNL has announced its national roaming on news paper so i think they r ready now .

and it seems that the unlimited plan monthly charge has been increaed to 999 (750 only till 31 Mar). And we the lucky ones who are already on the unlimited plan will continue with the 650 pm plan (i hope bsnl keeps it this way).

And also NATIONAL ROAMING is activated... as im now able to use my EDVO in gurgaon (which is frm Assam) after more than a month. But i havent been assigned any no starting with 9 yet.

And abt the increase in speed frm 2.4 to 3.1 Mbps.... i havent noticed any increase in speed. Do we need to change the older EDVO devices to get the better speeds?
If yes is BSNL providing any exchange offers on the old ones???

roaming is not working in my device.i have got the 10 digit number starting with 9.

You are not getting even zonal roaming ( in neighboring states) ?

Looks like 3.1 MBps + 999 + National Roaming are with new device

When I went to BSNL's office last time for changing ht number to 10 digit, I had a conversation with them

Q : Why this change in number
A : Its for enabling roaming

Q: Wow.!!! All India ?
A : Not all India, you will get south zonal roaming, you can use this device in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, since you are in Kerala

Q: Ok, so when we can expect all India Roaming?
A: Not sure, but you can expect such a move from our side +
You will not be able to access CDMA networks while roaming +
We are increasing monthly rental to 650

Q: That's pretty cool, can I have new modem drivers which runs on your system ?
A: Well, its the same version we have on website

Have u gone to the local BSNL office n updated ur device (prl n all)?
If not do it, cause I am able to use my device now in Gurgaon whereas Im from Assam. So I definately think that National Roaming is enabled for all devices.

They told me it will work all over INDIA in case it doesnt work go to the local exchange there and ask them to configure to work in that area.
