Simple way to get faster download speeds

I just have 1 qus, did u try the torrent speed in a private tracker or a public one like Guests cannot see links in the messages. Please register in our forum for free by clicking here to see links.
I have an evdo connection, I get 3 bars almost consistently, But my speed never goes above 100 for HTTP or Limewire and less than 10kBps for torrent. I am using Windows Vista SP1. utorrent ant flashget (for HTTP).

well friend let me explain you.
First understand what the DNS is.
whenever you communicate with other computer or say website we use ipv4 means ip. But they are hard to remember. So we use domain names. It means that whenever you open any site say google.com than it will point you to google.com's ip 64.233.187.9.
When you open or ping google.com it will send query to the DNS server and your dns server will send back the ip of google.com ( 64.233.187.9).

The above post was for the bad DNS server or DNS server problems.
Means the internet connection was ok but DNS server was not responding means if i open site ion browser it wont open up but if i open 64.233.187.9 in browser it will show me up the google.com

So for above prob. i suggested SimpleDNS.
No doubt OpenDNS rocks its largest dns catch BUT for the regular connection above post was problems in DNS. And that i have faced even at that time opendns was answering only half of my dns queries. so i thought better to have own dns server that was simpleDNS. Just cache the sites u visit and than use that cache when u face dns probs.
And friends don't think that i am franchisee of simpleDNS on ragular connection i also use openDNS.

You told me to ping sites and note the response.
well there is no meaning of this test.
i.e if i ping the google.com once with openDNS and once with SimpleDNS there will be no change in timings
it will be same as pinging 64.233.187.9
just change is in time of DNS query response and when i done it was faster in simpledns (after caching) just because it is dns server on your own pc.


I do use it in my collage as DNS server and to block sites. (from ordinary users)
OpenDNS also allows to block sites but places the advertising on blocked page.

U r orbit software was really super. i had been using download accelerator. it took 15 min to down load a file using DAP and the same got downloaded in 3 mins using orbit.
Can u sggest me any sililar way to increase download speed in torrents

Well torrent is the big question for everyone(almost) in this forum.
We don't have personal external ip and we even don't have any port forwarding so we can not connect enough peers to get good speeds.
There is no way i know till now (there are some but very pro.) to increase torrent speed for evdo.

I can just give some tips. That use the utorrent, download the files which have enough seeds. And add trackers.

I can get 40-60 Kb/s with torrents. Thats not very much but i m satisfied.

U may have low signals issue so getting low speeds.
If you are getting good speed with direct downloads and dont get speed with torrents than i dont see any way till now. Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register in our forum for free by clicking here to see images.
I do believe that to choose only the torrents with seeds more than 100 unless don't try it will be painful.

Bro in EVDO we have NAT means we have shared external ip.
That means that the all EVDO users of your server(may city) will have common external ip address. The rapidshare and other file sharing sites are allowing only one download at one time for one ip. (for free users). So due to the shared IP if some another EVDO user of your area is downloading from rapidshare than you have to wait until he completes the download.

At least helps to avoid Captcha

i live just 1 km from tower,still i get 5-6 kbps for torrents.even for thousand seeded file.my speeds always fluctuate and come down to zero even when i am downloading(direct) also my browser get stuck.
also tell me how to scan the subnet.i downloaded dns,what i have to do after that?
