National Roaming?

I have applied for national roaming 2 months ago and got a new 10 digit number. The official @ Surat BSNL office have configured my device. Now, it's working in Surat as well as Ahmedabad.

Last week I visited New Delhi & Shimla, but unfortunatly I was unable to use my EVDO device to connect to the Internet even though there were good signals available in both the cities. I called the support officer @ Surat BSNL office who said me that `roaming is still not fully implemented, it's only available in Gujarat, Maharastra, MP & Chhattisgarh`.

Can any one confirm this?

As far as I know National Roaming is not yet available and BSNL is still testing it.
Now BSNL is offering some Zonal based Roaming, where you can Roam in selected states, these states are normally neighborhood states.
Again, you will be able to connect to EV-DO network only, if you are not in home town i.e. no CDMA 1x while roaming
