Getting Rid Of the Constant Network Change From EVDO to 1x Problem

Do remember to Backup ur settings. (Back ur procedure will be explained in details below)

Many EVDO users were facing the Problem of Automatic Network Change Form EV-DO to 1x which Resulted into a major set back in speed and is very annoying.

Well i have come up with a probable solution, which worked for me and my friends , might work for u too.
I will explain whole procedure in 3 steps>

Step (1)
Go to device manager (rt click my computer on desktop, go to properties->hardware->device Manager.)
in device Manager,
locate PORTS.
expand ports so that u can see ZTE Diagnostic Interface (com **)
now observe the comport no in this ZTE DIAG INTERFACE. either write it down or remember it, coz we will need the com port no later.

Step(2)
Backing up the settings, to be restored if any thing goes bad..

download the PST software form the link

open the RAR archive, extract all files and folders.

follow path extraction path\ EVDO\EVDO\ZTEIT\PST

u will find a pst.exe file in that folder.
open that file, and in the Select Port column, select the port u saw in the ZTE diag interface port previously. Click Scan Button.

Then when the system finds ur Card, Click Enter Button on the application UI.

then click Read From The Phone button.
wait while all settings are displayed and the software becomes idle.
now Click the Save Button, and save the backup.ini file wherever u want.
The Backup is Done now, BUT DON'T close the application.

Step (3)
Making and Saving Changes for fixing the problem.

Now after saving the settings, locate Preferred Mode dropdown option box.
click it and select the option HDR OLNY

now click on Write to Phone button.
wait till terminal writes the device.
now close the application and remove and reinsert the evdo card to the usb port.

Settings have been done, and if u followed sucessfully, u from now onwards might not suffer from the said proble.
Caution
Do mind that the settings do not allow ur EV-Do card to select 1x network. so if their is no EVDO network but 1x network is available, ur card will not select it but will show no network coverage.
Please read the following to get back ur 1x signal where EV-do is not available.

For getting 1x signal where EV-do is not available, Open the PST app, follow the procedure in the step 2 exept the saving of the file
click on load button, select the previouysly saved file, and click on write to phone button. now u would be able to acces 1x where EV-do is not available.
Repeat Step 3 for getting back Stable EV-do where EV-do connection is available.

NIce tutorial i tried it and it worked for me now i am getting good speed and also tat roaming icon is not appearing in the GUI.
