hi guys can you help me ...in chennai which customer centre is selling this evdo data card and weather any updation in evdo tower as been done in chennai circle.........what will be the minimum speed i will be getting in madhavaram next to mathur and manali and nearer to moolakadai ...chennai......

@tksree you may be getting 144 kbps CDMA only so it is best to opt for NIC card
Chennai BSNL is upgrading the EVDO-REV0 networks to EVDO-REV-A which will give the maximum speed bust rate of 3.1mbps (currently it is 2.4 mbps) also additional areas has brought in to EVDO services

thanks vaithy for your in formation...but in your above msg..you have mentioned mathur 2.4mbps speed...but my home is aroun 2km from mathur did i get atleast a minimum of 256 to 512kbps in my region madhavaram

Getting the constant speed through wireless is more tricky than wire line..signal received through wire line is like the water received through pipe where as signal received through wireless is water received through spraying the same..so in wireless there is nothing as minimum...
However present REV-A is eliminating many draw back of Rev-0 .. further you will get maximum 3.1 mbps in your present position..Please contact madhavaram CSC(only the SDE or JTO has the correct information,Don't inquire with counter).. Please purchase only REV-A card on rental.. in some cse speed has no relevance with distance of tower.. the position of PC/Laptop in the house determined how much speed you will received! I have read reports in some cases, person who situated more than 5 k.m are receiving much speed than the person situated within 1 k.m of tower range..Area without any high rise building in the surrounding, open area and number of users in the particular area also play important role..if you have the PC test it in various location in your house.. Laptop is easily movable even out of house..Insuch case laptop users are more advantage than Desktop users..Good luck.. if you get any doubts you can contact me through e-mail..with regards

but vaithy i just contact them they not even known what is this evdo how can i ask them regarding this device....as now did bsnl is selling this rev.A card......can i get some person no who were selling this card.....its possible to check any demo piece im my area atleast people like me in my area could known what is the speed we getting in my area and suroundng...1 think like to known madhavaram and manali region are within 5km circle from mathur why it shown madhavaram and manali as 144 kbps instided of 2.4mbps...regarding usage in my area i think am the only guy who knowns about this device in madhavaram,mathur and manali region.....

tksree, they are the locations of BTS tower places.. if you are within 5 k.m of mathur range your EVDO can will pickup the signal from Mathur only even if your near to Madhavaram, which has another 144 kbs CDMA BTS..on the other hand you are lucky to have three BTS within 5 k.m range...From my area EVDO tower 8.k.m CDMA tower 6.k.m.. so I get CDMA signal.. atleast you can wait for another one month, as this is only introduced and staff have to reoriented about EVDO...My advise is wait..and watch..I'll post the news as soon as asceritained the fact.. from my enquiry with Madhavaram CSC they told that Mathur come under Kalmandapam CSC So don't get disappointed just be patient..
