i dont understand,if i have taken a evdo(2.4 mbps) connection why should i be given a cdma thing first and now to seperately request them to upgrade??this is what i learnt today at the N.R colony service centre(i took it there. stay in hanumanthanagar,nearest tower padhmanabhanagar),but then there are ppl in this forum who have been gettin evdo signals from the first day.how?????it has been 20 days since i took it.i have never got a evdo signal once despite being within 4 km from the tower. when i asked the procedure for upgrading they are advising against it. my max speed- 450 kbps (stayed for few milliseconds). on an average, oops,sorry unable to calculate.....highly variable. any assistance and i would be really grateful.

Can someone confirm the quality, speed, signal-strength or success/failure of using EVDO in the HSR Layout area ?
If you are using it in areas beyond HSR Layout, towards Sarjapura Road, or Electronic City, your feedback would be even more appreciated.

I am new this forums, could i please know if anyone has tried commercial street or frezor town in Bangalore, i know indian express is the main tower which is about 1.5 km and i do get 3 bars, EVDO and the pair of wings but when ever i try to connect it says "The remote computer did not respond for further assistant contact customer support". i tried the customer support but its no use, can someone please help me.

The exchange guys are mislead - you can take the EVDO connection from day 1, and not like you take 1X and then upgrade. Again, the 450kbps - its just a tech error, the data burst. People here get upto 100000kbps on bursts. And they are advising against it, coz mainly they consider it as a pain, and the signals might be weak, which essentially means you'll be having a EVDO device, paying 550pm but still on 1X. The 1X signals vary a lot, so does the EVDO, upto 200kbps in a second. But thts fine in EVDO i guess. Get it reconfigured asap. And abt a month earlier, I had gone to kumaraswamy layout exchange - they were against it too

a common technical glitch. change location, within home and also the locality and see. If no change, head to exchange, customer care is more or less useless

I have been at my fren's place near BEL road(Devasandra). One fine day I was able to see green light and I tried launching his device and saw the EVDO written and the wings showing(which clarly indicates EVDO signals). No surprises I was unable to launch cos his device was configured only for 1X. It stayed that way for a while, and when i restarted the laptop, the green light is gone never to be seen again. Today, i brought my EVDO device which is EVDO configured but can never get tyhe green signal.
Is it possible that we have green signal and able to login with just CDMA 1X configured device. And what if we consistenly get EVDO and unable to login?
I have heard people in Hebbal area which still uses 1X inspite of getting EVDO. And it seems they are getting pretty good speed.
yeah radz, the speed has improved a lot. but the irony is that, if yuor device is 1X configured, you get inconsistant speeds. but if on EVDO, you get lower EVDO speeds but in case you happen to get only 1X, you get consistant 140-150 kbps. Wierd! btw, EVDO is easily available on the southern side of the flyover.. throughout bellary road from CBI to flyover.

Is there any connectivity at AREKERE or Hulimavu, Bannerghatta road? If yes, does anyone know where is the nearest exchange to buy the EV-DO modem & connection?
I have read hat there is a coverage in Rajarajeshwarinagar and there is a tower at the telephone exchange in the same area. Also, the list mentions that kengeri has a tower. But I still don't get the speed on my EVDO card. I get connected at 144kbps.
I got my card reconfigured to 2mbps, but no luck
