In the dialer, instead of 1X, it shows EVDO & a pair of wings (I suppose?). Find out from which exchange you draw your signals. In the homepage, all exchanges in Bangalore beaming EVDO signals have been listed. And try taking it out to see whether you get better speeds. Oh, btw, the blinker starts blinking green instead of amber.
thank you. but it's like it never existed 4 me. should i contact my exchange about it???
Yea, definitely. COnfirm whether EVDO signals are available, if yes, ask them to check your apparatus.
i'm postin this from my terrace. still no evdo signal nor increase in speed.
Ouch

@aji,
Thanks for the piece of advice, I ll check out my new location BSNL as soon as i shift, and confirm with them if EVDO signal is there and do the neccesity. Btw where are you put up, and how much usual speed are you getting.
Im put up in Hebbal now, and connection speed is averaging 600kbps (to a max of 1mbps, mainly becoz my house is a closed one.. lack of open spaces). Downloading - avg 60KBps in Limewire. But I'll be shifting to JP Nagar soon.. dunno how it is like there
Okie I am most probably shifting near Mathikere, hope i get some good speeds. I didnt notice anyone saying about EVDO in JP nagar. But i guess its there in Jayanagar. So good luck mate.

I'm in JP Nagar 1st Phase. I went to the Jayanagar exchange couple of months ago, they said its coming shortly in JP Nagar 1st phase. I haven't checked after that. If they say that the EVDO service is available in my area and I do not get the service in my home, can I sell (transfer) the connection to someone else who needs it?
Well, thats bad news.. I'll be shifting to IInd Phase, near Aurobindo Circle. I'll try to check whether its available in JP Nagar and post it. But otherwise, the best is you ask the exchange again whether its there or not - dont worry, BSNL guys don't lie atleast! And alternatively, you could take it the other plan, i.e. not buy, pay Rs 1500 refundable deposit, and pay Rs 200 extra per month as rent. So in case you dont get EVDO/not satisfied, return it to the exchange, they will refund the amount.
