I finally saw some signs of EVDO signal from RT Nagar tower. But no luck ,its very weak and interrupted. And I just live 2 km from it. EVDO signal doesnt last for more than a minute, even then it doesnt take off, i get 200kbps only. Its pathetic man, I might disconnect sooner or later. Im not gonna pay the 2500 bill, let them gobble my deposit, and as a courtesy I may return the card.

I got EV-DO. The signals varry a lot. I wanted to know why does the speed varies so much?
I never get a consistent speed. Sometimes it will be 0 bps and at times 200kbps.
But the speed generally is less than 50 kbps.
The no. of signals I get is max 2 but most of the times 1 only. Even when its showing 2 bars, the speed at time will be near 5bps.
Please help me to get a consistent speed.
I got EVDO in bangalore ( Ejipura ) on 28th April . Initially it gave good speed, but the connection drops on inactvity, but lst night on 27-May I got full 2.4 Mbps speed.
I was able to download 4 Movies ( 2 GB ) in just 8 Hours... Without any disconnection...

Just make sure the connection is not left inactive for a single minute... or else it will disconnect.

First of all.. WOO HOO!! I'm finally getting EVDO signals in Hebbal. Right now a max of 850kbps, with a download speed of 47-53 kBps! Unfortunately there are only 2 bars of signal.. aah, thats fine!
To mandakini - Are you getting EVDO or 1X SIGNAL? See what is shown in the dialer - is EVDO being shown in block letters? Most people in the forum still confuse between EVDO and 1X signal.. maybe time to put up pics of what they look like in the dialer.
@Gigacore - Yes, the CD trick actually works.. getting consistant signals now. The CD slants when you keep it on the card, so it should look like a dish antenna, facing the tower (a lil bit of fine tuning
